About

Theatre’s strength is in the power of its words, actions and images.

Amateur theatre appears to enrich everyday life, by adding elements of performance and literature, as well as a sense of belonging to a particular social group. Theatre is said to be belong to the elite; however, it is accessible to everyone.

This accessibility was the guiding ideal and inspiration behind Scena 98, when originally established in 1998. Since then, the group has grown to over 180 participants, with its influence on members profound. They have developed public speaking and performance skills, which means greater confidence and courage to tackle the life’s challenges.

Every theatre group is more than just opening nights and performances. Theatre is like a living entity, inspired by everyday events, social gatherings, gruelling rehearsals, and finally, those long awaited premieres.

“If the director is an amateur and the actors are amateurs, then the playwright should at least be professional and ambitious.”

Tomasz Bujakowski – Director
